Sustainable Fashion
As an artist, designer and producer in a consumer driven society of rapidly changing trends, Natalie Gerber is inspired to create functional design incorporating salvaged materials. The designer reconstructs nostalgic treasures of the past and reclaimed fabrics such as laces, buttons, brooches, buckles, vintage fabrics, men’s ties and suits, into whimsical accessories, apparel and home-wares.
Aesthetics
Natalie Gerber, draws intellectual inspiration from the British and American Arts and Craft movement of the latter half of the 19th century and in particular the textiles of William Morris which incorporate plant and floral imagery. The designer continually explores the decorative art of textile design through techniques such as; printing, dying, weaving, fabric collage, appliqué, embroidery and cloqué.
Silhouettes
Using classic silhouettes the collection is designed to compliment the wearer's individual style and wardrobe. Accessories and apparel are intended to be easy to wear for everyday style, regardless of the current season or trend.
